Your visit/appointment - what to expect:
​     Appointments are recommended and appreciated, especially if you are new to wearing wigs or hairpieces.  We generally like to plan for up to two (2) hours to give you plenty of time to try on a variety of styles and to show you the differences in brands and fibers as well as teaching you about care.  You are also welcome to bring friends, family members, or your own hairdresser to help you with deciding what looks most natural for you or help you get comfortable with an entirely new look.

All wig shoppers:
     We request customers wear a wig cap while trying on, which keeps the wigs fresh and clean for everyone.  The wig caps are $5.00 plus tax but if you purchase a wig the wig cap is free.

Chemo patients:
     If you are expecting to undergo chemo, it is best to come in before you begin to lose your hair.  It helps us see you with your normal hair style and better match it.  That also allows time for another visit to make final decisions or time to order if needed.  We have many customers tell us how relieved they are to find there are options they can feel good about and have that behind them.  You have enough stress of the unknown so the sooner we help you with a solution for the hair loss, you get that part of the unknown out of the way.  Some customers prefer to have their head shaved when the hair starts coming out rather than deal with losing it over days or weeks.  We will be happy to shave it for you in our private room when you are ready, just call for an appointment.

New to wearing wigs or hairpieces:
     For short term hair loss of any kind, we suggest you consider a shorter style even if you have always had long hair.  Most people will assume you just got a new hair cut and/or slightly different style (or even color or highlights).  If you don't want to tell people you are losing your hair or that it's a wig, you can just say you had a hairdresser help you try something new and it's actually true.  More importantly, when your hair starts growing back, you can transition back from the wig to your newly grown hair more seamlessly.  Ever thought about trying a different color or highlights but were afraid you wouldn't like how it turned out?  Now you can see instantly what you'd look like with a different length, color, highlights, lowlights, more or less curl etc. with no risk!!
     If you are new to wearing wigs or hairpieces, it is best to plan for 1-2 hours for your visit.  While we hear some shops limit customers to trying on just 2-5 items, we will help you try on as many as it takes to find something you are comfortable with.  We don’t want to rush or pressure you.  We are here to help you “look good and feel better” and relieve the stress of hair loss.
     We have hundreds of options in stock from most major brands.  We stock multiple colors of most styles and have many more colors of those items available to order.  We try to have at least one style in stock of most colors for our most popular brands so you can see more than just a small swatch.  Unlike online stores, we can also trim bangs, length, or thin the hair, generally adjust style or fit and add clips or liners.  We will also teach you about care and getting maximum life from your purchase.  Helpful tips are also listed on our "Wig Care" page.

For Men - non-surgical hair replacement:
     Feel free to stop in for supplies such as tape, adhesives, adhesive removers, clips, etc.  Please schedule an appointment for hair cuts, color, bonding, repairs, or ordering a new wig or hairpiece so we can plan to work with you in the privacy of the men's service room.  We have several hairpieces in stock as well as full wigs for men.  However, there are so many choices we will usually need to color match and order your piece even if we have one in stock to show you.  Usually items are in stock and we can have them within a week or two although custom orders can take 8-16 weeks or more.  Once your hairpiece arrives, you will need an appointment to have it cut to length for your style and to blend with your hair.  We can also color your hair to cover gray or order your piece with a similar percentage of gray to match your natural color.  Custom hairpieces offer even more options in length, coverage, color transitions, straightness or curl, and of course, style.

Special Orders:
     We are happy to order colors or even styles we do not have in stock with a 40% deposit.

Return/exchange policy:
     For wigs and other hair related products - We only accept returns for exchange for a different item or “in store credit” to be used later, no refunds.  Therefore, we work very hard to insure you will be happy with your purchase.  Note that items must be returned within 10 days, unworn and including tags, box, and receipt to receive in-store credit.
     Merle Norman products have the Merle Norman satisfaction guarantee of replacement or refund within 30 days.
